Semester wise syllabus of B.Com of kumaun university


The Course : This programme of B.Com is to train a student in business practices which are required for developing sound understanding and analysis of the corporate world. The curriculum includes paper which enable students to understand the trends of the Competitive market as well as the internal working of an organization. This programme also imparts knowledge of Computers as student of B.Com can chose Information Technology as one of the subject.

Currently The Department of Commerce is Running two course in B.Com., :

  • Semester Mode (For students admitted after academic year 2016-17)
  • Regular Mode ( For students admitted before academic year 2016-17 )

Note: 

  • Each paper (except IT papers) in all semesters will be of 100 Marks out of which 75 Marks will be for written examination and 25 Marks for internal assessment. 
  • The fourth paper in VI  semester will be of Viva-Voce carrying 100 Marks. 
  • Besides, once a candidate opts IT in first semester, he/she will have to continue with IT as IVth paper in all consequent semesters. 
  • Detailed syllabus of IT will be provided by IT department.

Semester Wise Syllabus for B.Sc. and B.A IT(Information Technology) of Kumaun University

SEMESTER-I (2016-17)

Scheme and syllabus for B.A./B. Sc. IT (Information Technology)

Semester wise Syllabus of B.Sc./B.A./B.Com IT information technology of Kumaun University


Semester system course structure:

  1. The course work shall be divided into six semesters with three papers in each semester.
  2. Each paper in a semester will be of 80 marks out of which 60 marks for theory and 20 marks are allotted for internal assessment (written test or assignments or both)
  3. Each theory paper shall consists of section A: 20% of total marks (12 marks; one question of 12parts; multiple choice, one word/one sentence answer, fill in the blanks, true- false; all parts will be compulsory), section B: 40% of total marks (24 marks, one question of 06 parts; any 04 have to be attempted with short answer) and section C: 40% of total marks; (24 marks, 04 questions, any two have to be attempted with long answer).
  4. Question paper shall cover the whole syllabus.
  5. Practical in each semester will be of total 60 marks, out of which 15 marks are assigned for internal assessment (attendance, practical records etc.).
  6. Practical examination will be evaluated by both external and internal examiner.
